Patient Arrested After Assaulting Louisiana ER Nurses

At St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana, a patient was arrested after urinating on emergency room nurses while receiving care. On Sunday, December 4th, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the hospital after receiving an emergency call that Jared Keith Ray, 24, had allegedly become aggressive with the nurses and assaulted multiple staff members. 

According to police reports, Ray had been transported to the hospital via ambulance for an undisclosed medical condition. Then, according to police records Ray urinated on an emergency room nurse before police could restrain and detain him. 

After he was medically cleared, Ray was taken to Ouachita Correctional Center and charged with two counts of Battery of a Healthcare Professional. It is unclear if he has retained a lawyer and remains in prison with bail set at $3,000.

St. Francis Medical Center is a not-for-profit 328-bed medical center in Monroe, Louisiana. When asked for a comment regarding the incident, Saundra Wyatt Nalley, MBA the Director of Marketing at St. Francis Medical Center stated that they do not have a statement.
