According to news reports, police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Lindsay Story, a 39-year-old nurse from Greensboro, North Carolina, accused of stealing over 600 vials of hydromorphone (brand name, “Dilaudid”) from her employer Authoracare. According to police reports, an internal audit at the facility revealed that the vials of the potent opioid painkiller had gone missing over an approximately 5 month period of time. Story allegedly manipulated her employer's computer system to falsely increase the number of medication vials she could take, exceeding what was required for patients.

Police are asking anyone with information on Story's whereabouts to contact them immediately.

Police Searching For The Nurse

Detectives have yet to locate Story. The search continues for Lindsay Story as Burlington police work to locate the missing nurse and allegedly the stolen hydromorphone. Story is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
