Fake Nurse Who Stole Nursing License, Faces Federal Charges
- Between 2019 and 2022, Perry received approximately $54,991 in Social Security disability benefits while also working at multiple facilities. She also submitted Work Activity reports to the Social Security Administration, swearing under penalty of perjury that she had not earned any wages since May 2019.
- Perry used a stolen nursing license number on the applications to trick the employers into believing she was an LPN. Perry has never legitimately held any type of nursing license.
- Officials say Perry worked as an LPN at one facility from February 2020 to April 2020, a second facility from January 2021 to April 2021, and a third facility from May 2021 to November 2021. The names of the facilities in which Perry worked fraudulently as a nurse have not been released.
- If convicted on all charges, Perry could face up to 5 years in prison.

An Indiana woman has been charged with fraud and identity theft after she used a stolen nursing license number to work as an LPN in multiple healthcare facilities.
Rochelle Perry, 49, was charged with five counts of Social Security Number fraud, three counts of aggravated identity theft, and one count of Social Security disability benefits fraud.
Rochelle Perry Fraud Details
According to a press release from the Indiana U.S. Attorney’s Office, Perry submitted five employment applications to nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Indianapolis area between February 26, 2020 and March 23, 2022. She used a stolen Social Security number and a stolen nursing license number on all of the applications.
Perry was receiving Social Security disability benefits under her real Social Security number, and she knew that those benefits would be decreased or withheld completely if the Social Security Administration discovered she was employed. She also knew that she would most likely not be able to pass a criminal background check if she used her real Social Security number on job applications.
