Licensed Practical Nurse 4 FULL TIME and On-Call Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC)

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Licensed Practical Nurse 4. There are FULL-TIME and On-Call positions available at the Stafford Creek Corrections Center.


FULL TIME SHIFTS AVAILABLE ARE:
0530-1400, Tuesday/Wednesday off 1300-2200, Wednesday/Thursday off

Stafford Creek Corrections Center (SCCC) is a 1,936-bed multi-custody facility located five miles west of Aberdeen, on the southern Washington Coast. There are seven living units for medium and minimum long-term custody offenders and an intensive management unit for maximum-custody offenders. The Health Services employees provide outpatient medical, dental and mental health care, and inpatient medical and dental care at SCCC. There is a wonderful mix of long term and acute care patients at this facility. It has been a center for treatment of infectious disease and a leader in the management and treatment of HCV.

Duties:

The Licensed Practical Nurse delivers service to promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjustment to various health conditions. Health services are provided to individual patients, their families, groups of patients, the staff employed at the correctional facility and to the public at large. The Licensed Practical Nurse 4 supports the agency mission and vision by providing direct care and special clinic management services in: -Screening, accessing and evaluating offenders and the conditions where they live and work to ensure they are well, safe and their health care is continuous. -Responds to all other requests for healthcare attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate, and therapeutic manner. -Participates in monitoring, managing and coordinating the delivery of healthcare and providing progress information to the shift supervisor. -Assisting patients to improve their skills and ability to provide care for themselves and their family. -Teaching, counseling and providing health care information that improves quality health services and/or enhances safety or security.


Qualifications: Education:

Graduation from a school of Practical Nursing. Initial and continuous unblemished/unrestricted licensure in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse.


AND

Experience:Two years experience working as a licensed practical nurse. Certification by the American Heart Association in emergency first response. Indicates skill and ability to perform basic nursing skills Demonstrates nursing skill competency periodically as scheduled. Able to use the computer to enter schedule, monitor and track patient information, word process and communicate via email. NOTE: This posting may be filled as LPN2 which requires Valid Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (or the ability to obtain), AND one year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
